    Please visit us at the Creedmoor Music Festival on Saturday! We will be at booth #40, which is in front of the newly renovated, 2-story brick building at the north end of the businesses on Main Street (across the street from the closed gas station).

    Granville Dem. Party (virtual) September meeting

    Dear Fellow Dems,

    Please join us at our monthly meeting on Thurs., September 22 beginning at 6:30 pm. This meeting will be held virtually. A detailed agenda is TBD, but we’ll certainly discuss our current activities supporting Democratic candidates in the upcoming election.

    Upcoming events:

    Saturday, Sept. 17 – Creedmoor Music Festival. We’ll be there in booth #40, which is in front of the newly renovated 2-story brick building at the north end of the business buildings on Main Street. Across the street from the closed gas station.

    Tuesday, Oct. 4 – Save the date! There will be a forum for Democratic candidates, from 5:30 to 7:30 at Granville Expo Center.

    PLEASE – Check out our Facebook, Twitter and Website or call us for more information. You can find links to the campaigns of our candidates.

    We need to elect All of our Democratic Candidates, so ALL HANDS ON DECK!!!.

Candidate filing period for 2019 municipal elections

Passing along this press release from the Granville County Board of Elections:

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The municipal filing period is set to begin on Friday, July 5, 2019 at noon and end on Friday, July 19, 2019 at noon.  The Board of Elections office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will not close for lunch during the filing period.  The office is located at 208 Wall Street in Oxford.  Local offices up for reelection are as follows:

City of Oxford
Mayor
City Commissioner (3 seats)
Filing fee: $10.00

City of Creedmoor
Mayor
City Commissioner (3 seats)
Filing fee: $10.00

Town of Stem
Mayor
Town Commissioner (3 seats, once of which is an unexpired term)
Filing fee: $5.00

Town of Stovall
Mayor (Seat is not up until 2021)
Town Commissioner (3 seats)
Filing fee: $5.00

Town of Butner
Mayor
Town Council Members (3 seats)
Filing fee: $10.00

Please bring a check to pay your filing fee.   Anyone with questions about filing can contact the Board of Elections office at 919-693-2515.
