The Granville County NC Democratic Party (“GCNCDP”) is committed to protecting your privacy, and any information you choose to share with us, and is providing this policy so that you can be comfortable in doing so. Visitors to our web site are not required to identify themselves or provide personal information, and we do not routinely gather information about them. The GCNCDP may, however, offer links to other web sites, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such sites. 1) What Information We Collect:

We collect information about you in these ways:

a. Volunteers: If you sign up as a volunteer on our web site, or in person, we will ask for your name, address, phone number, cellular number and email address. We may also occasionally gather additional information about our volunteers.

b. Contributions: When you make a contribution to the GCNCDP, we are required by state and federal law to collect your name, mailing address, occupation and name of employer and report this to the State Board of Elections if your contributions exceed $50 in a calendar year and the Federal Election Commission (“FEC”) if your contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year. c. Database: We also gather name, address, phone number, cellular number and email address information for our database of registered Democrats in Granville County. If you provide information as a volunteer or contributor, that information will be incorporated into this database as well.

d. Third Party Databases: We also gather publicly available information about registered voters and voting trends from the State Board of Elections, and we will combine this information with information provided by you.

e. Children’s Information: Because we care about the safety and privacy of children online, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (“COPPA”). COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulations establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. The GCNCDP does not ask children 13 and under for any information, nor do we knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children 13 and under.

2) How We Use Your Information

The GCNCDP will never sell or rent your personal information. We will not give your email address to political candidates or to any other organization unless you specifically authorize us to do this.

If you provide your email address to us, we will use that email address to send you newsletters or other GCNCDP information. Any email you receive from the GCNCDP will contain information about how to unsubscribe from our list.

Any information we gather about you will be used to help promote the goals of the OCDP and to facilitate the election of Democrats in Granville County. Information will be used at the County and Precinct levels for organizing and get out the vote purposes. We will provide updated versions of the publicly available information contained in our Database to Democratic political candidates who are on the ballot in Granville County. Although we attempt to preserve your privacy whenever possible, we may be required to disclose personal information when required by law or when we in good faith believe that such action is necessary to comply with a judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on the GCNCDP.

Our website has state of the art security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of the information under our control. Access to our database of information is strictly limited.
